A Warm Welcome to New Vistas School

From Head of School Charlotte Morgan

Charlotte MorganWelcome to New Vistas’ website. Perhaps you’ve never visited our “real” campus in Lynchburg, Virginia, just a few steps from Lynchburg College. We’ve been serving students who learn differently for thirty years – over 750 young people and still counting.

In grades 3 – 12 we offer a full program of academics, enrichment, and community service. Often, children with special learning needs have spent the day focusing on their weaknesses; we make certain that part of every day with us they experience success and respect for their strengths and talents as well.

Our experienced, certified teachers serve students identified with a specific learning disability including Dyslexia, AD/HD, and high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (formerly known as Asperger’s Syndrome).

Through an Orton-Gillingham approach to all subjects, not just reading, we engage students in their own learning. Visitors walk through our campus and say, “Your students seem so . . . happy,” as if education were a torturous daily experience. Not at New Vistas! We work hard, we challenge intellect, and we help each student reach potential. Success is a positive experience!

We partner with Lynchburg College and Randolph College to enable field study students and interns in special education to observe and do practical studies on our campus. We are accredited by the Virginia Association of Independentt Schools,. licensed by the Virginia Department of Education, and an organizational member of the International Dyslexia Association.

Please call or come by if you have a child who needs our services. We would love to meet you and YOUR special child.

All best,

Charlotte G. Morgan, M.Ed., M.F.A.
