​Enabling students to have “hands on” interactive, multisensory opportunities, NVS respects the fact that preparing students for the 21st Century means getting them to work well with others, explore for information and ideas, and get their “hands in” to the learning experience. Our outdoor “learnscape” affords an organic garden area where classes can meet for everything from botany to environmental studies to creative writing and back again. Our teachers are the “guides at the side,” not the sages on the stage, affording students the opportunity to experience learning firsthand.
