I am excited to be a part of the New Vistas School Family! Currently I am teaching Earth Science, Biology I, Biology II, Life Skills Science and 4th grade science. I am also teaching the enrichment class known as Publications where the students produce a yearbook and a monthly newsletter.

I graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in Biology and furthered my education at Lynchburg College where I received my Masters in Secondary Education. About 10 years ago I returned to L.C. and became certified to teach students with learning differences. This year marks my 27th year in teaching! I love science but what I love the most about teaching is encouraging, guiding, and helping students be successful.

I enjoy camping, listening to music, going to the mountains, vacationing at the beach and doing things with my friends and family.
